MARI I'ANSON'S FINCHLEY SKETCHBOOK is an A4 publication containing 64 pages of beautiful watercolours of her surroundings in north London and is published by The Finchley Society. Mari has depicted the architecture of homes, churches and shops in this very Edwardian area. Every page is a delight, reminding the reader of the best parts of the neighbourhood. She says, "My passion for drawing buildings has prompted this collection of illustrations, for I cannot look at a building that interests me without wanting to draw and paint it. During the summer when the trees are in full leaf it can be very frustrating as most buildings are obscured and it is only in autumn that I can see enough to draw, but then it often too cold to sit around. I hope that the pictures in the book will somehow reflect the sheer enjoyment of the artist as observer".
