Mari I'Anson has painted all her life. Following a classic art school education, she worked as an illustrator before deciding to paint full time. She still illustrates to commission. She works in watercolour, oil and acrylics.
In recent years she has travelled extensively, spending winter months in sunny climes and returning home with paintings which are in great demand. Her work is in collections world-wide and she has exhibited widely, at home and abroad.
Her travels have taken her to Southern Spain, painting in the Andalusian mountains for three consecutive winters. Thailand, where she spent four winters as artist-in-residence at Bangkok Patana International School. Here she held succesful exhibitions of paintings of her travels there. She worked in Singapore with school children, while studying Chinese brush painting. India, where she travelled solo from South to North and back again to Chennai. Earlier this year she spent six weeks in Mexico where she plans to return next spring, some of her oils and watercolours of that country will be on exhibition there.
